| "Panorama perspective rules enable the viewer to look around with one broad look (up to 360°). In vertical panorama we have sky and earth. In horizontal panorama, the horizon creates a circle. This is two-dimensional perspective. In the first case we can depict the depth and height, in the second case depth and width. Of course, creation of new rules brings also new challenges. For example, while depicting horizontal panorama an artist must paint one part of the painting along with the light and the other part against the light. This fundamentally changes the familiar concept of illumination, colour harmony, interdepency of reflections. A brand new world of active reflections formerly unknown comes to life. Old masters who tried to work with panorama in 17th and 18th century were not capable of such perception of colours and hues. This is why panoramas occurred usually in graphic art and in majority of cases it reflected a dull day with indistinct light." |
